I have a backup of TF2 from before the Love and War update. I loaded a demo from early March and it worked perfectly. The maps and media folders are removed to cut down the filesize.

Can you explain what to do with the 3 files? I see that they're 7z files but extraction is failing for me.

Put them all in the same folder and extract the first one. It's working on my end using 7-zip 9.32 alpha.

Alright! got it working... just make sure steam is closed and it will work. It kept crashing because I had steam on. Thx dude.

i wonder if someone could use these files to make an exact copy of the old rocket launcher viewmodel...

shall i just run the hl2 or do i need to copy all of these to the main tf2 folder?

Here's exactly what I did to get it working:

1. Put the three .7z files in a folder
2. Extract the first one
3. Copy the media and maps folder from my regular tf folder to this one
4. Copy the gameinfo.txt from the tf/ folder to the hl2/ folder
5. Launch hl2.exe with steam closed, which launches tf2
